What’s your favorite spot/location to be active?
I don’t really have the one favorite place. With the right attitude to life it is possible to feel comfortable in a lot of places all over the world. I lived a few months in South America, the United States and in Canada. But I’m always happy to get back to the West Alps.

How do you prepare for a project/contest (info/training/nutrition)?
In my youth I spent some time at the Olympic training center. I learned a lot about my body under extreme stress. Normally I train all year long, sleep a lot and allow myself to rest with recreational sport. The key factor in mountain climbing is not only being in the best shape, but also having good weather conditions, experience and a bit of luck.

What are your biggest accomplishments?
I was able to open new routes in Alaska, South America and Asia.

What are your next goals (related to your sport)?
One of my next goals is to climb new routes in the southern wall of Mount Orville in Alaska. Mount Orville is a legend and the wall rises up to 1800m. Due to the exposure to the Pacific sea the weather is unpredictable. This wall, with its complexity, is the ultimate challenge.

Who do you look up to, who motivates you?
Manny Pacquiao, who became the boxing world champion in seven different weight categories. He is a fighter with a very strong mental mindset. This really impresses me.

Who is your favorite guy to hang out with/be active with?
Stefan Berger – the beast of granit ;-)

What’s your ‘2nd‘ sport (not only outdoor activities)?
Boxing.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I love drinking coffee and taking a sauna.

What’s your favorite adidas product and why?
Terrex Feather Jacket.

What’s your favorite food?
Salmon and chocolate.
